Boot Camp Series: March Towards Sustainability Through Code (Undergraduate)

I run a hands-on Boot Camp Series for underrepresented undergraduate students focused on applying AI/ML to real sustainability problems.

Highly selective: Chosen 6 extremely motivated participants.

Students successfully coded and completed real-world AI/ML projects; collaboration continued offline.
Hands-on experience across the full AI/ML workflow (from brainstorming to visualization).
Learned fundamentals of academic writing & conference paper preparation.
For many, this was their first exposure to publication.
Group collaboratively authored a paper, submitted and accepted at IEEE.

A supportive platform that connects single parents and provides tools for community, resources, and peer-led help.

Nebula — Social Media Platform for CF Patients

I name my social media platform as “Nebula” – inspired by “nebulizer” (a treatment taken by most CF patients) and the idea of stars shining together.

Motivation

Living with cystic fibrosis (CF) comes with the unavoidable reality of daily treatments — at least twice a day, and up to five sessions when sick. Each treatment lasts 30–90 minutes and can be physically and emotionally exhausting. The routine is isolating: only those undergoing treatments truly understand the frustration and monotony.

During treatments it’s hard to study or focus on serious tasks; lighter activities like watching videos or playing simple games are feasible. My vision is a dedicated online space exclusively for CF patients, where they can connect in real time while undergoing treatments, see who else is taking treatments, pair up to watch pre-selected videos, or play simple games together. Feeling someone “next to you” — even virtually — reduces isolation.

My motto: “Treatments Together, Never Alone.” As a CF patient, I want every patient to feel supported by a community that understands.

My Goal

Build a platform that indicates who is currently in treatment and enables connection through synchronized video watching or casual games — making those minutes less lonely and more hopeful.
