I lead two structured teaching initiatives focused on applied AI/ML education across different academic levels:
1. AI/ML Learning Series (Middle & High School Students)
Program Director & Lead Instructor
In partnership with San José Public Library (SJPL) at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, SJSU
This year-long program (Fall 2025 – Fall 2026) consists of three boot camps (Fall 2025, Spring 2026, Summer 2026) and culminates in a capstone hackathon in Fall 2026. The series is designed to introduce middle and high school students—particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds—to AI/ML through hands-on, real-world applications.

2. Boot Camp Series: March Towards Sustainability Through Code (Undergraduate)
This series is designed for undergraduate students from community colleges and San José State University, with a strong emphasis on collaborative research, applied machine learning, and real-world impact. To date, I have organized and led two highly successful boot camps under this series. Detailed boot camps information: Spring and Summer 2025 Boot Camps
a. Summer 2025 Boot Camp
Students from multiple community colleges participated in an intensive, research-focused program. This boot camp resulted in an IEEE conference publication:
Anish Roy, I. E. Domínguez-Keenan, A. Saleh, S. Kodaboina, O. Nasri, M. Barraza,
"Efficient Sailboat Price Prediction Using Linear, Boosting and Deep Learning Models,"
IEEE International Conference on Computing (ICOCO), Oct 6–8, 2025, Malaysia.
For many participants, this was their first exposure to academic research and publication. Guiding students through collaborative research, writing, submission, and acceptance at an IEEE conference remains one of my most rewarding teaching experiences.
Spring 2025 Boot Camp
This was the inaugural boot camp of the series. Information on participant demographics, program structure, instructional approach, and outcomes is available at Spring 2025 Boot Camp Details
